Every number on this site is computed from official U.S. government data: theEPA (fueleconomy.gov) for vehicle efficiency, and theU.S. Energy Information Administration for electricity and gasoline prices. Data is refreshed monthly; the methodology explains the sources, formulas and assumptions.
